Prabowo Aims to Feed 82.9 Million Kids Free Nutritious Meals by Year-End

President Prabowo Subianto has set a bold target to expand the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis / MBG) to reach 82.9 million children nationwide by the end of 2025. This initiative, according to him, is not only a national priority but also a matter of utmost urgency. During the 27th anniversary of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Prabowo shared a touching story from his recent visit to Central Java, where he witnessed the overwhelming demand for the program. Moved by the children’s plea for nutritious meals, he immediately instructed his team to accelerate the program’s implementation with the goal of reaching 20 million children by mid-August.

Prabowo emphasized the importance of proper resource management in delivering these meals, highlighting the need for trained kitchen staff to ensure accountability. Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence in achieving the target of 82.9 million beneficiaries by December 2025. The President’s ambitious plan has already captured global attention, with other nations closely observing Indonesia’s progress in addressing child hunger and malnutrition.

While acknowledging the need for tangible results to match his optimism, Prabowo urged accountability from himself and his team. The Free Nutritious Meal Program is a key component of his broader vision to combat child hunger, malnutrition, and educational disparities, aiming to provide every child with the necessary nourishment to thrive. As the program continues to expand and make strides towards its ambitious goal, Prabowo remains committed to ensuring the well-being and future success of Indonesian children.
