The Free Health Check in Schools (CKG) program in Indonesia is targeting 53 million students nationwide. This initiative covers all types of educational institutions, including public, private, and religious schools overseen by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Hariqo Wibawa Satria, Senior Expert Staff at the Presidential Communication Office, emphasized that every student, regardless of school type, will benefit from free health checks. President Prabowo aims to create a Golden Generation by 2045, which aligns with his strategic policies focused on children’s welfare and development. With programs like Free Nutritious Meals, Capacity Expansion of Public Hospitals, and Digital Learning Initiatives, the government prioritizes the well-being and education of Indonesian youth.
President Prabowo has also signed regulations related to child protection and medical specialist allowances to improve healthcare services for children. The CKG program extends to religious-based schools, including madrasahs, pesantrens, Christian, Catholic, Hindu, and Buddhist educational institutions. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar highlighted the importance of including all religious schools in the CKG program to support the national vision of a healthy, intelligent, and competitive generation by 2045. He urged schools to actively participate by providing necessary equipment and ensuring staff involvement in the initiative.
Minister Nasaruddin instructed regional and district heads of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to oversee the program’s implementation closely. Schools that do not prioritize the CKG program will face consequences. This comprehensive approach to healthcare and education demonstrates the government’s commitment to creating a brighter future for Indonesian youth.
