President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, embarked on a journey to Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday evening via the Whoosh high-speed train, accompanied by members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta. The President arrived at the station at around 7:45 p.m., donning a cream-colored outfit with a matching jacket and navy blue cap, seamlessly blending in with fellow passengers as he scanned his boarding card and ascended the escalator to the platform.
His presence brought surprise and excitement among commuters, with Prabowo waving to onlookers and warmly interacting with the crowd on his way to the platform. Before boarding the train, he graciously posed for photos with the Whoosh crew. At 8:00 p.m., the high-speed train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung.
President Prabowo is set to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), from August 7 to 9. Alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, he will deliver the keynote address at the convention under the theme “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” solidifying KSTI 2025 as a pivotal forum on both national and international fronts.
