Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia, recently made a remarkable journey to Bandung, West Java, utilizing the Whoosh high-speed train from Halim Station in Jakarta. The President’s arrival at the station at 7:45 p.m. local time, clad in a cream-colored outfit, attracted the attention of the public. His interaction with the crowd and cheerful waves to onlookers as he made his way to the platform sparked surprise and excitement among commuters.
Before boarding the train, President Prabowo posed for photos with the Whoosh crew and departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung at 8:00 p.m. His visit is in conjunction with the inauguration of the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at Sasana Budaya Ganesa, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) scheduled from August 7 to 9. The convention will feature President Prabowo delivering a keynote address alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto.
With the theme of “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” the KSTI 2025 aims to be a significant platform on a national and international scale. The event is expected to attract experts to engage in discussions and develop strategies regarding the role of science and technology in driving economic growth and ensuring equity.
