Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, has appointed General Tandyo Budi as Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). In addition, he inaugurated six new Regional Military Command (Kodam) commanders, 20 brigade commanders, and 100 Territorial Development Battalions. During the ceremony, Prabowo also awarded the Bintang Sakti Medal of Honor to soldiers who demonstrated exceptional integrity.
Prabowo emphasized the importance of commanders leading by example. He stated that leaders, whether brigade or battalion commanders, must always be at the forefront, protecting their soldiers in perilous situations. Prabowo reiterated that true leaders do not lead from the back but instead should set an example by being actively involved in the most critical and dangerous situations.
Furthermore, Prabowo urged military leaders to care for their troops as they would their own children. He emphasized the importance of nurturing and training subordinates with compassion and dedication, ensuring that they are well-prepared but never subjected to cruelty.
In his closing remarks, Prabowo reminded everyone of the TNI’s identity and mission, emphasizing that they are the people’s army and exist to serve and defend the people. He reiterated the TNI’s commitment to the nation and readiness to sacrifice for the people.
