The budget will allocate a record-breaking Rp 757.8 trillion to education, highlighting the importance of quality education in producing globally competitive human resources and reducing poverty. Prabowo emphasized the need for effective use of education funds, focusing on teacher welfare, vocational training, and curriculum alignment with labor market needs.
The breakdown of the education budget includes funding for various programs such as Program Indonesia Pintar and Kartu Indonesia Pintar scholarships, as well as investments in school and campus facilities. The budget also includes provisions for teacher and lecturer salaries, emphasizing professional allowances for educators. The President pledged to enhance access to quality education for underprivileged children through initiatives like Sekolah Rakyat and Sekolah Unggul Garuda, while also expanding scholarship opportunities through the LPDP for students to study at top universities.
Looking ahead to 2026, the government aims to award scholarships to 4,000 students through the LPDP, nurturing a generation capable of global competition. Prabowo closed his address by stressing the importance of advancing Indonesia’s proficiency in STEM fields, emphasizing the need to prioritize science, technology, engineering, and mathematics moving forward.
